Look up a company's government award record by 法人番号

Hashike's company pages use the 法人番号 to show what one company won from Japan's central-government ministries over the most recent 60 months: award count, value in yen, buying ministries and recent awards, all from public 調達ポータル records.

What a 法人番号 lookup tells you

When you vet a counterparty or study a competitor, you may want to know how much government work the company already holds. Searching by name splits that record across full-width and half-width spellings, 株式会社 before or after the name, and past name changes. A 法人番号 is the thirteen-digit corporate number Japan's National Tax Agency assigns to each company, and it stays the same however the name is written.

Hashike groups the award results Japan's central-government ministries publish on 調達ポータル by 法人番号. Over the most recent 60 months there are 167,444 award results, and Hashike can tie them to 17,515 suppliers by 法人番号. The steps below put one company's award count, awarded value, ministry breakdown and recent awards on one page.

Open a company's page

  1. Open Hashike's Suppliers page (/companies). It lists every company with a central-government award result, largest awarded value first. You do not need an account.
  2. Type part of the company name into the search box. The box matches names as 調達ポータル published them, full-width letters included, so a short fragment without 株式会社 finds more.
  3. If you already have the 法人番号, enter hashike.io/en/companies/<法人番号> in the address bar to open that company's page directly. To find a number from a company name, use the National Tax Agency's 法人番号公表サイト or gBizINFO.
  4. Click a name in the list to open the company page. The top shows the 法人番号 and the period, then the award count, total awarded value, number of buying ministries, and the first and latest award dates. The count and value cover every award in the period; they are not a sample.
  5. Read the ministry breakdown to see which ministries bought from the company and how much. Ministries appear largest awarded value first.
  6. Read the recent awards table for the latest procurement names, ministries, award dates and award prices. Procurement names appear exactly as 調達ポータル published them.
  7. The registry section at the foot of the page shows the address, founding date, employee count, 全省庁統一資格 grades and business description. Hashike takes these from METI's gBizINFO, a separate source from the award records.

Reading the figures

  • Only central-government award results are covered. Prefectural and municipal procurement is not included.
  • Amounts are the published 落札価格 in yen. Hashike does not convert them to dollars or combine them with US federal figures.
  • Under the 複数落札 methods several suppliers can win one procurement, so the count is of award results, not of procurements.
  • The period is the most recent 60 months by award date, not a fiscal year. Japan's fiscal year runs April to March, so the two do not line up.
  • An award record is a published history. It says nothing about the company's finances or its future awards.

Some award results were published without a 法人番号 and cannot be tied to any company. A company missing from the list, or showing few awards, is therefore not evidence that it has no government work.

Get the same record from an AI assistant or a script

The same record is available from Hashike's supplier_profile MCP tool and from the public API's company endpoint. Pass a 法人番号 and you get the award count and value, buying ministries, contract methods, recent awards and registry facts. API and MCP access is metered against a plan allowance, and every response states what is left.

What this does not tell you

  • Built entirely on public records. Hashike has no access to non-public government information and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government.
  • Absence of a record under a set of filters is not evidence that the underlying activity did not occur.
  • Central-government award results only. Prefectural and municipal procurement is not included.
  • Amounts are 落札価格 in JPY as published, never converted, and never combined with US federal figures.
  • About 1.2% of award rows carry no 法人番号 and cannot be attributed to a supplier identity. Their absence from a supplier's record means unresolvable, never inactive.
  • The 複数落札 methods let several suppliers win one procurement, so a row count is a count of award results, not of procurements.
  • A rolling window over award date, not a fiscal year. Japan's fiscal year runs April–March and the US federal year October–September; a figure spanning both would reconcile two calendars silently.
